It’s summertime and the living is easy!  There is something about summer that screams lazy days are here again and what better way to spend those days than indulging in a great book!

books i'm loving

I love the way books can educate, inspire, empower, and create growth from within.  Books contain the keys to open new doors that we never knew were there.  For me, I like to dive into cookbooks, craft books, and home decor books because I find that I can split them up over time without forgetting any major details i.e. (What did Mr. Darcy confess again was it loathe or love?).  Here are some of my current favorites that I have in rotation and a little intro to each.

1.| Date Night In: Recipes that nourish your relationship.  Food blogger and recipe developer for Not Without Salt.

2.| The Year of Cozy: Full of great recipes and cozy crafts. Another great food blogger with amazing recipes.  Check them out on her blog here.

3.| How to Hygge: Nordic secrets to a happy life.  Truly a great book that gives great tips on living happy!

4.| Camille Styles Entertaining: Inspired gatherings and effortless style. She is such an inspiring creator and she knows how to throw a party!  You can check out some of her parties here.

5.| Half Baked Harvest: Rustic recipes for every meal.  I guess you could say I like food blogs, ha!  You can check out more of her great recipes and beautiful food photography here.

6.| Platters and Boards: Casual spreads and charcuterie.  This book will come in handy for any gathering!

7.| This is Home: The art of simple living.  A beautiful decor book featuring stunning homes!

8.| Terrain: Home and garden decor.  Most people haven’t heard of this shop but it’s absolutely dreamy!  You can take a look at their shop here.

9.| Malibu Farm Cookbook: Recipes from the California Coast.  Last September, Jamie and I went to Malibu and had a lunch date at this charming Malibu Farm Restaurant.

10.| Modern Macrame: Stylish handmade projects for your home.  They even have a macrame koozie which I totally need in my life!

  • All starry eyed over here 🤩 with this constellation print from @hello_strellas and how much it means to us! I was so excited to have our exact constellation of the day and time we got married almost 10 years ago arrive yesterday.
It’s been such a wonderful reminder of where we started out as a new married couple and where we are now. Looking back on how much we’ve been able to accomplish together and how much our relationship has blossomed has made me realize how excited I am for our future together and all the adventures we have ahead of us!
If you’re looking for a last minute Valentine’s gift for your special someone, this is hands down the most thoughtful gift out there! ✨

  • Weekend Mood = SLOW DOWN! ⚠️ After a week of going 100 miles an hour, I think it’s time we slow down.... Have you heard of the art of slow living? February is the perfect time of year to start practicing. 1.| Take 5 minutes to enjoy your coffee or tea in the mornings instead of rushing to get out the door. 2.| Take time to organize your life so you have time to be present and enjoy the things you love. 3.| Take walks and reconnect with nature. This is a really great way to clear your head or find inspiration. 4.| Instead of turning the tv on right when you get home, turn on some music and allow yourself to decompress from the day. 5.| Don’t over-plan your day. That will only create stress and overwhelm. Learn to be flexible, give yourself a few of the most important tasks so that when they are complete you can treat yourself and enjoy the rest of your day doing something that will spark joy.
Hope you found this helpful friends! Happy Friday! ❤️
