DIY TASSEL BOOKMARKS

Happy hump day!  Today I’ll be sharing with you this super easy and cute DIY tutorial for tassel bookmarks!  I came across this idea a few weeks ago but I’m just now getting to it…

I love a bookmark that does not slide. In the past, I’ve had the laminated ones only to find that they eventually get pushed inside the pages and it takes a bit to find your place again because they are so thin.  I also don’t want something too bulky that will warp the pages so a paperclip seemed ideal for my bookmark needs but there was just one thing missing.

As a paper clip is helpful to bookmark pages, sometimes it’s nice to have something to grab to quickly flip to that page and also unless you are using colored paper clips, you may not know exactly where that certain recipe is or that important note that you need to remember.  That’s why these colorful tassel paper clips are perfect to keep you organized and also add some fun flair to your reading.

Ok so let’s get started!  First things first, you will need supplies:

BOOKMARK TASSELS

| 1. | Gold Paper Clips | 2. | Cross Stitch Thread | 3. | Scissors

Take sleeves off of the thread you plan to use.  The thread should already be looped for you.  Take one end of the looped thread and feed it through the paper clip.

SUPPLIES

Cut the opposite end of the loop in the center.  Then cut a small piece of thread for wrapping the tassel.

TASSEL DIY

Tie the top of thread near the base of the paper clip and wrap, tie last bit of thread into a knot and cut loose ends.

TASSELS

Trim to the desired length you would like your tassel to be.

TASSELS

That’s it!  This is probably one of the easiest little crafts you could possibly do while watching your favorite Netflix show.  These would be a great little gift to give your office buddies or book club mates and it’s super cheap to make!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!  If you have tried this craft, please let me know how it turned out!  I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below.

Cheers-  Ashley Nicole
