custom fragrance

One of my favorite one-stop shops for beauty products, custom scents, and more is Pish Posh Patchouli’s (Patchouli’s for short) located in Rosemary Beach, FL.  It’s not every day that you find a boutique offering a custom scent bar, and that was exactly what reeled me in.

If you knew me personally, you would know that I have a strange obsession with coconut.  I love to eat it, drink it, and I even like to smell like it.  With that being said, I would find myself constantly looking for a coconut fragrance that actually smelled like coconut.  I’ve come across several products on the market that claims to be coconut scented but I often find that they have some sort of piña colada pineapple flavor which is way too sweet and a bit childish for me.

I had started to give up on my hunt for the perfect coconut scent when a friend referred me to Pish Posh Patchouli’s.  She had just recently created a custom scent for her boyfriend’s Valentine’s gift and was super pleased with the results. In that very moment, I was curious and thought I’d give it one last go convincing myself that this had to be fate.  I popped in on my next trip out to Rosemary Beach and right away I was greeted with a friendly staff.  I told them of my dilemma and the next thing I know I’m smelling and testing oils to find the perfect combination.  It was a truly unique experience, one I’ve never done before.  There were loads of choices which can seem overwhelming but luckily I knew exactly what I was looking for and with the help of the staff, I was able to create my staple scent in no time!

custom scent

Here is what is in my custom fragrance:

  • 2 part Madagascar Vanilla
  • 2 parts Coconut

The next part was very interesting as they have a great variety of products to choose from for your custom scent.  The one I chose was the Vitamin E Hydrating Spray.  If you would like to see the other custom scent products they offer you can do so on their website, here. Use the code COTTAGE BOUND during the Month of May for 15% off custom fragrance products!

As my product was being produced I had a great chat with the buyer, Ginny.  She explained to me that they have been helping customers and making custom scents for over 20 years (going on 25 years now). This was super impressive to me and at that moment I decided that I wanted to help contribute to their business by becoming a frequent customer.

Since then, I had been referred several great products that I would never have found on my own. I later asked Ginny what they look for when purchasing products for the store.  Her answer was amazing!  When looking for products, we look for a good background story.  Many of our product lines were created by women who own small businesses in the U.S.  I was so touched by the fact that they wanted to help support local women entrepreneurs it compelled me to write this post.

Here are a few more things to know about Pish Posh Patchouli’s that will make you proud to shop there:

  • Their company motto is “Making women feel confident, healthy, and beautiful.”
  • They have a full line of locally made bath and body products.
  • The company owner Lynn Dugas gives back to the community and local charities by donating to Alaqua, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Sinfonia, Bay Elementary School, Food for Thought, and the Rosemary Beach Foundation.

If you would like to find out more about Pish Posh Patchouli’s and ordering your custom fragrance, they are completely accessible online or by phone (850) 231-2005.  You can also follow them on Instagram @pishposhpatchoulis.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and thanks again for reading!

  • Cold days like these make me want to cozy up with a warm blanket and look through sunny photos of past vacations while day dreaming up our next adventure together.
Last year, my husband and I visited St. John and The British Virgin Islands and we had such an amazing time that I decided to surprise him by capturing our favorite vacation moments with a custom photo book.
Luckily, @google photos just launched a new photo book feature so I decided to try it out and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to create. It literally took minutes to put it together!
If you have an anniversary, birthday, or “just because” dates coming up I would definitely recommend adding your own personal touch with one of these keepsakes!

  • Finally got out and about after being sick for the last few days and found the most delicious tile pattern on the way to my car. This was someone’s walkway leading up to their home (don’t mind if I do). So glad no one was there 🤫 but I had to share because it was the perfect reminder that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. I hope your day was filled with beauty loves! ✨

P.S. You can now shop my looks over @liketoknow.it 🤗 Simply screen shot the photo and follow me in the #liketoknowit app!
  • Really looking forward to the weekend and a little sunshine because it’s been raining here non-stop! ☔️ I’ve def gotten my money’s worth out of my @hunterboots this week, but now I’m ready for a change 👢
  • Does anyone feel weird when the new year starts mid week? It’s kind of like when you’re at the crossing between 2 states with one foot on both sides.... I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m working on moving forward but I’m also having to look back on things in order to get there. Does this make sense? #newyearnewbeginnings #makeitcount #wrapitup
  • Welcoming 2019 with open arms! Last night Jamie (my husband) and I spent a nice quiet evening at home. I made Hoppin John, Collard Greens, Corn Bread, and Pork Chops. We ended the night watching the ball drop from bed and slept in for the first time since I can’t remember when. It was perfect! Just exactly what we needed to rejuvenate ourselves for the 1st day of the year. Today we took down all the Christmas decor and talked about some things we’d like to do/change in our home this year with a fresh new perspective. Lots of ideas sparking over here! Looking forward to new beginnings and new projects! Hope y’all had an amazing New Year’s!

  • Cheers to the weekend! 🥂Currently contemplating whether I should take down our Christmas decor or leave it up til New Year’s Day. What are your thoughts on this? I need some advice 🙃
