NEUTRAL EASTER TABLESCAPE | A REFRESHING TAKE ON AN EASTER TRADITION

Spring is finally here which means warmer weather, bountiful garden goodies, and all the pretty flowers I can get my hands on.  Inspired by all of this, I’ve decided to put together a neutral Easter tablescape that will allow fresh greenery and bright spring dishes to be the guests of honor.

A simple straw table runner serves as the perfect “basket-like” look for Easter and will also be a perfect addition to more table settings throughout the summer season as well as the seagrass woven glasses.

Over the past few years, I’ve been collecting bottles of all shapes and sizes.  I find them handy when I need a bud vase or in this case an array of bud vases for a centerpiece.  They also look pretty arranged at various heights all by themselves.  You can reuse container bottles or scavenge for them in junk shops and on Etsy.  I used dried eucalyptus branches I already had at the base and added white ranunculus blooms and buds to the bottles that I found at Whole Foods Market. The glass hurricane candle holders I’ve had for a while and are considered a staple for most tablescapes and gatherings, just ask Ina.

table setting for Easter

Always thinking of others is part of being the host or hostess of any gathering.  Place pitchers/decanters of water or other beverages you are serving right on the table.  This also allows you be present and enjoy your company rather than constantly spinning your wheels to keep your guest’s glasses full.

Lately, I’ve been looking for neutral staple pieces I can reuse instead of adding more clutter to our cabinets and household.  This past November we ended up staying home for Thanksgiving.  I wanted it to be special so I decided it was high time to update our dishware and actually have enough plates for our table which seats 6.  I found some stoneware ivory dinner plates and grey salad plates at World Market.  Since then, I’ve been loving how versatile they are for any occasion.  If you would like to see my Thanksgiving tablescape you can do so by clicking here

While on my adventure to finding new dinnerware, I also purchased a new set of flatware.  I wanted something a little more on the rustic side and was so pleased when I found this twig-inspired set.

The bowls displayed here are newer.  When I first purchased the stoneware plates I wasn’t sure I liked the bowls that matched so I held off until I found something that grabbed me.  A few weeks ago, my Mom came to stay with us for the weekend.  We have a little tradition of staying up late and sleeping in which is usually followed by brunch and shopping.  While we were out I found the perfect bowls for my set and she immediately jumped at the idea of buying them for us even though I told her not to…  Thanks, Mom!

The last final touches I added were the jadeite napkins to reflect the eucalyptus and a faux white fur cushion for the bench inspired by our visit to Malibu Farm while in California last September.  I’d love to get a real sheepskin throw but until then I’ll have to settle for this one.

An Easter to remember

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and that this post will give you some inspiration for your table!  Please feel free to send me yours via my Instagram or in the comments below.

Cheers-  Ashley Nicole

  • Here is some advice for all my SINGLE LADIES out there!
Earlier today, I had a discussion with some younger co-workers of mine and I feel like you may relate and probably need to be told this so keep reading! One of the girls stated that she’s never had a good relationship and wanted to meet a nice guy.
Another girl made a remark about the kind of guys she dated when she was her age and then asked me what kind of relationships I had when I was the other girl’s age and I told them the truth. I dated a very nice guy for 4 1/2 years when I was her age. At one point, I honestly thought that we would marry someday, but I was so young/still trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted my adult life to be like. Eventually we didn’t agree on the same things and grew apart. It ended well and I wish him well. Later after I had a few relationships, that also did not last and it was all for good reason. I feel like I was able to learn something from my past relationships that allowed me to be ready when I was meant to meet my husband which I have been married to for 10 years now. So the next time you look back at those past relationships and you’re looking for a nice guy, just know you’re one relationship closer to meeting the one and when you do you will know it and you will be ready for it! Just know your worth and never lower your standards because you feel like you have to to make it work. Always stay true to yourself because if you’re not, it will not be you they have fallen in love with. Like @arianagrande sings...Thank you, NEXT!

  • Lately, I’ve been reading a ton of wellness articles about the benefits of collagen powder and how women in their 30’s produce less collagen naturally which can start to effect your skin and so on. Ever since I read that. Ive been wanting to give it a try... The one I chose to put to the test is called Gym and Tonic and it’s a collagen protein powder by @tonicproducts
I started adding 2 scoops into my blueberry banana smoothies in the mornings which has been so great because I’m guilty of never eating breakfast unless it’s brunch or brinner and I’m always rushing to get out the door and to work on time!
Not only is it free of soy, dairy, gluten, and artificial hormones, but you can also rest assured that their ingredients have all been responsibly sourced. And here’s the bonus, it contains 18 essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce on their own which combined will help with hair, skin, nail growth, joint pain, and good gut health! Winning!

So glad I finally tried it, and I will def be adding it into my daily routine.
P.S. I’ve shared a Mango Smoothie Pop recipe in my stories/highlights that this would be perfect in x beating the summer heat with a sweet treat! 😉
