Lately, you may have noticed that the “Global” look is on trend and popping up everywhere.  It’s often shown with natural products like straw or wood with pops of color and/or patterns.  Today I am going to share with you a few quick ways to update your outdoor living space without breaking the bank and also my go-to formula that will keep your new space updated for longer than just a season.

When it comes to decor, I like to use 1-2 colors and 1-2 neutrals. I personally love white, even though it is considered the “vanilla” of colors I feel that it is one of the few colors out there that can be chic, classic, beachy, I mean the list goes on and on.  Natural finishes are also considered to be a part of the color pallet which is why you should be choosing your outdoor furniture wisely.  Be sure to keep in mind whether or not the furniture is timeless and easy to care for.  One of my favorite outdoor pieces is this outdoor dining table.  We bought it at the end of summer last year and couldn’t be happier with it, I highly recommend! *Quick tip– there are tons of sales on outdoor furniture going on right now!

Normally black would be considered a neutral color, however, because I’ve chosen lighter neutrals for this look, it serves as the pop of color in my pallet.  I’ve incorporated the black into the space with accent pieces like outdoor pillows and rugs and also in the finish of the umbrella, lanterns and string lights. I bought these outdoor pillows in the beginning of spring and absolutely love them!  The pattern adds something interesting to the space and the to the eye while tying everything together.  I also love the idea of adding lanterns and string lights to an outdoor space, it automatically gives off a warm luxurious feel to really set the mood.  Below is the complete list of items I used for this outdoor makeover plus a few more items that I couldn’t fit in the graphic that would totally go great with this look.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post and find it helpful!  Have you done anything to update outdoor space lately? I’d love to hear about it!

Cheers -Ashley Nicole

  • Cold days like these make me want to cozy up with a warm blanket and look through sunny photos of past vacations while day dreaming up our next adventure together.
Last year, my husband and I visited St. John and The British Virgin Islands and we had such an amazing time that I decided to surprise him by capturing our favorite vacation moments with a custom photo book.
Luckily, @google photos just launched a new photo book feature so I decided to try it out and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to create. It literally took minutes to put it together!
If you have an anniversary, birthday, or “just because” dates coming up I would definitely recommend adding your own personal touch with one of these keepsakes!

  • Finally got out and about after being sick for the last few days and found the most delicious tile pattern on the way to my car. This was someone’s walkway leading up to their home (don’t mind if I do). So glad no one was there 🤫 but I had to share because it was the perfect reminder that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. I hope your day was filled with beauty loves! ✨

  • Really looking forward to the weekend and a little sunshine because it’s been raining here non-stop! ☔️ I’ve def gotten my money’s worth out of my @hunterboots this week, but now I’m ready for a change 👢
  • Does anyone feel weird when the new year starts mid week? It’s kind of like when you’re at the crossing between 2 states with one foot on both sides.... I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m working on moving forward but I’m also having to look back on things in order to get there. Does this make sense? #newyearnewbeginnings #makeitcount #wrapitup
  • Welcoming 2019 with open arms! Last night Jamie (my husband) and I spent a nice quiet evening at home. I made Hoppin John, Collard Greens, Corn Bread, and Pork Chops. We ended the night watching the ball drop from bed and slept in for the first time since I can’t remember when. It was perfect! Just exactly what we needed to rejuvenate ourselves for the 1st day of the year. Today we took down all the Christmas decor and talked about some things we’d like to do/change in our home this year with a fresh new perspective. Lots of ideas sparking over here! Looking forward to new beginnings and new projects! Hope y’all had an amazing New Year’s!
