Hi friends!  It’s been super rainy here lately, and I’m about over it but I’ve managed to come up with a few things to do to keep myself occupied until it passes and I thought I’d share them with you.

How to occupy your time on a rainy day

Do you ever feel like your whole day is shot when the rain comes in?  I used to feel this way when I was younger, however, now that I am older I’ve learned that this is the perfect opportunity to slow down and enjoy the little things that I don’t always have time for.  It’s kind of a nice excuse to be lazy…

Here is my list of to-dos when the rain comes in.

1.| Catch up on your favorite blog.  Hopefully, this is one of them!

2.| Read a book that you’ve been meaning to. I’ve been reading these lately.

3.| Try out a new recipe. Beware some baking recipes will not do well on rainy days so make sure you read ahead.

4.| Get a little online shopping done. Hello, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! (you can check out my favorite picks here).

5.| Pamper yourself with a mask (hair or skin), exfoliate your skin, and soak in a warm bubble bath.  A while back I made my own rose petal bath soak with coconut oil, you can find the recipe for it here.

6.| Find a new show on Netflix and binge watch it! No judgment here!

7.| Dive down a Pinterest rabbit hole and keep scrolling!

8.| Try out a new craft or DIY project.  Not feeling crafty? Maybe you should make a new playlist! I just made my summer playlist here.

9.| Plan out your meals for the week and prepare a grocery list.  This will take the stress away from the old “What’s for dinner?” question every night.

10.| Go through your clothes and purge what you haven’t worn in the past year. When the rain subsides, donate them to a good cause.

Now that you have the list, maybe you can make your own sunshine even if it is indoors!

Hope you found some great ideas from this post and implement them on your next rainy day!  What do you do on a rainy day?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Cheers-  Ashley Nicole
